This is the 'Intimation', I wanted to put on the Day 1.
Somehow it slipped out of my mind,
just the way life is slipping out of my hands...
I liked this very much which is the

Stranger, think long before you enter,
For these corridors amuse not passing travellers.

But if you enter, keep your voice to yourself.
Nor should you tinkle and toll your tongue.
These columns rose not, for the such as you.
But for those urgent pilgrim feet that wander
On lonely ways, seeking the roots of rootless trees.

The earth has many flowery roads; choose one
That pleases your whim, and gods be with you.
But now leave! - leave me to my dark green solitude
Which like the deep dream world of the sea
Has its moving shapes; corals; ancient coins;
Carved urns and ruins of ancient ships and gods;
And mermaids, with flowing golden hair
That charm a patch of silent darkness
Into singing sunlight.

Self-governance...!

Today, I want you to visit at least one of following links to have a glimpse of the incredible example of self-governace...

http://www.nextindia.org/index.php/2009/07/04/swaraj-story-of-hiware-bazar/comment-page-1/

Local Self-Governance and Complete Self-Awareness are the needs of time, especially of our country and it's high time that we have chewed on this matter for years. Now it's time for action and supporting the activities like this with interactive communication and path-setting initiatives. We can no more leave our state-of-affairs in the dirty hands of the impotent politicians and the greedy businessmen or try to live on the mercy of bureaucracy. This is the most profound example of Mahatma Gandhi’s dream realized in it’s true sense and it should be regarded as the Model for all the villages and towns along the lengths and breadths of India and even beyond India. We – the people – should start a phenomenon to pressurize the governing bodies to adopt, empower and presume this Model for all the future policies, projects, decisions and constitutional activities.

I hope the least everyone of us can do is –
1. Visit Hivre Bazar with friends and family.
2. Encourage people to lead a self-governed life
3. Speak, write, publish in every available media about it
4. Be more proactive and aware about every single thing around us
5. Assuming the authority and accepting the responsibility of the social tasks

Three cheers for Hivre Bazar! Keep up the GREAT work!!

Decision...?

Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Nehru were traveling in a car when a dog started to cross the road in front of the car. It came half way and seeing the car approaching turned back to return to its original position. It was too late to turn back and the dog got caught under the cars front wheel and died.

Feeling sorry for the poor creature Panditji exclaimed “Poor dog, it’s time had come!”

To which Gandhiji replied “It’s not about time, the dog took the wrong decision…!”

We have already discussed the CHOICE factor in shaping an individual’s personality.
Today let’s try to learn how to make the right choice, i.e. taking a right decision.
Is there any manual of taking right decision with fail-safe results…?
If my decision is beneficial to me, would it be a good decision…?
What is the other criteria of good decision apart from being profitable…?

Well… let’s see!
A good decision should be Ethical as well.
Integrity is another essential feature of a good decision.

Ask following questions to yourself when you have to make a decision:

Confidence – Do I believe whole-heartedly in this decision?

Transparency – Would I be happy to stick to it for a long term as well?

Effect – Am I ready for the repercussions of my decision?

Fairness – Is it a fair decision for everyone related to it?

If you can honestly answer Yes to each of the above questions then you are likely to be making an ethical decision. If you have any doubt about saying Yes to any of the questions then you should think about things more carefully. Maybe there is an entirely different and better solution - there often is.

If you can't decide how to answer these questions, seek input from someone who has strong ethical principles, and who owes you nothing. Especially do not ask anyone to advise you about difficult decisions if they owe you some sort of allegiance.

Leader...!

Good leaders develop through a never ending process of self-study, education, training, and experience. Good leaders are continually working and studying to improve their leadership skills; they are NOT resting on their laurels.

Leadership is a process by which a person influences others to accomplish an objective and directs the masses in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent. Leaders carry out this process by applying their leadership attributes, such as beliefs, values, ethics, character, knowledge, and skills. Although your position gives you the authority to accomplish certain tasks and objectives, this power does not make you a leader, it simply makes you the boss. Leadership differs in that it makes the followers want to achieve high goals, rather than simply bossing people around.

A Boss drives, a leader leads
A Boss says "I", a Leader says "We".
A boss says "Go!", a leader says "Let's go!"
A Boss evokes fear, a Leader radiates love.
A boss assigns tasks, a leader sets the pace.
A Boss drives his men, a Leader inspires them.
A Boss demands respect, a Leader commands respect.
A boss creates resentment, a leader breeds enthusiasm.
A boss makes work drudgery, a leader makes it a game.
A Boss relies on authority, a leader relies on cooperation.
A Boss shows who is wrong, a Leader shows what is wrong.
A boss is interested in self, a leader is interested in the group.
A Boss depends on authority, a Leader depends on confidence.
A Boss knows what is to be done, a Leader knows how to do it.
A boss says "Get here on time!” a leader gets there ahead of time.
A boss fixes blame for the breakdown, a leader fixes the breakdown.

What makes a person want to follow a leader? People want to be guided by those they respect and who have a clear sense of direction. To gain respect, they must be ethical. A sense of direction is achieved by conveying a strong vision of the future.

So in a nutshell -- you must be trustworthy and you have to be able to communicate a vision of where the activity needs to go.

To emerge as a most adored and influential leader –

BE a professional who possess good character traits.
KNOW yourself. Unless you examine yourself, it’s useless to judge others
PROVIDE direction. Most of the people have the dimension but need the direction
IMPLEMENT strategies / methods. Concept, however good it may be, doesn’t help unless put in practice
MOTIVATE people around you. Intellectual stimulus works like a steroid

And remember

o The six most important words: "I admit I made a mistake."
o The five most important words: "You did a good job."
o The four most important words: "What is your opinion."
o The three most important words: "If you please."
o The two most important words: "Thank you."
o The one most important word: "We"
o The least important word: "I"

To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain: "AAAhhhhhhhhhh!!!"
Curious, he yells: "Who are you?"He receives the answer: "Who are you?"
And then he screams to the mountain: "I admire you!"The voice answers: "I admire you!"
Angered at the response, he screams: "Coward!"He receives the answer: "Coward!"
He looks to his father and asks: "What's going on?"
The father smiles and says: "My son, pay attention."
Again the man screams: "You are a champion!"The voice answers: "You are a champion!"
The boy is surprised, but does not understand.

Then the father explains: "People call this ECHO, but really this is LIFE."

It gives you back everything you say or do.
Our life is simply a reflection of our actions.
If you want more love in the world, create more love in your heart.
If you want more competence in your team, improve your competence.
This relationship applies to everything, in all aspects of life;Life will give you back everything you have given to it."

YOUR LIFE IS NOT A COINCIDENCE.
IT'S A REFLECTION OF YOU!

Marriage...!

EVERY relationship has a cycle. In the beginning, you fell in love with Your spouse. You anticipated their call, wanted their touch, and liked Their idiosyncrasies.

Falling in love with your spouse wasn't hard. In fact, it was a Completely natural and spontaneous experience. You didn't have to DO anything. That's why it's called "falling" in love... Because it's happening TO YOU.

People in love sometimes say, " I was swept of my feet." Think about the Imagery of that _expression. It implies that you were just standing There; doing nothing, and then something came along and happened TO YOU.

Falling in love is easy. It's a passive and spontaneous experience.

But after a few years of marriage, the euphoria of love fades. It's the Natural cycle of EVERY relationship. Slowly but surely, phone calls Become a bother ( if they come at all), touch is not always welcome ( when it happens), and your spouse's idiosyncrasies, instead of being cute, drive you nuts.

The symptoms of this stage vary with every relationship, but if you Think about your marriage, you will notice a dramatic difference between the initial stage when you were in love and a much duller or even angry subsequent stage.

At this point, you and/or your spouse might start asking, " Did I marry The right person?" And as you and your spouse reflect on the euphoria of The love you once had, you may begin to desire that experience with someone else.

This is when marriages breakdown. People blame their spouse for their Unhappiness and look outside their marriage for fulfillment.

Extramarital fulfillment comes in all shapes and sizes. Infidelity is The most obvious. But sometimes people turn to work, spirituality, philosophy, a hobby, a friendship, excessive TV, or abusive substances.

But the answer to this dilemma does NOT lie outside your marriage. It lies within it.

I'm not saying that you couldn't fall in love with someone else. You Could.

And TEMPORARILY you'd feel better. But you'd be in the same situation a few years later. Because ( listen carefully to this):

THE KEY TO SUCCEEDING IN MARRIAGE IS NOT FINDING THE RIGHT PERSON; IT'S LEARNING TO LOVE THE PERSON YOU FOUND.

SUSTAINING love is not a passive or spontaneous experience. It'll NEVER just happen to you. You can't "find " LASTING love. You have to "make" it day in and day out. That's why we have the _expression " the labor of love."

Because it takes time, effort, and energy. And most importantly, it Takes WISDOM. You have to know WHAT TO DO to make your marriage work.

Make no mistake about it. Love is NOT a mystery. There are specific Things you can do ( with or without your spouse ) to succeed with your marriage.

Just as there are physical laws of the universe ( such as gravity),

There are also laws for relationships. Just as the right diet and exercise Program makes you physically stronger, certain habits in your Relationship WILL make your marriage stronger. It's a direct cause and effect. If you know and apply the laws, the results are predictable. .. You can " make" love.

Love in marriage is indeed a " decision"... Not just a feeling.

Tragedy...?

The ultimate tragedy of mankind...

They overgo relations to attain a positioin and then

try to buy the comapny to overcome the loneliness...

They lose their health to make money and then

loose their money to restore health...!

By thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present,

such that they neither live for the present nor the future...!
They live as if they will never die and they die as...

THEY NEVER LIVED!!!

Anger...!

Dear All,

Today let's explore the most spontaneous and reactive of all the human emotions - Anger!

Anger is a very powerful emotion that can stem from feelings of frustration, hurt, annoyance or disappointment.
It is a normal human emotion that can range from slight irritation to strong rage.
Anger can be harmful or helpful, depending upon how it is expressed.
Knowing how to recognize and express anger in appropriate ways can help us to reach goals, handle emergencies, and solve problems.
However, problems can occur if we fail to recognize and understand our anger.

What Are the Dangers of Suppressed Anger?

Suppressed anger can be an underlying cause of anxiety and depression.
Anger that is not appropriately expressed can disrupt relationships, affect thinking and behavior patterns, and create a variety of physical problems.
Chronic (long-term) anger has been linked to health issues such as high blood pressure, heart problems, headaches, skin disorders, and digestive problems.
In addition, anger can be linked to problems such as crime, emotional and physical abuse, and other violent behavior.
•Although expressing anger is better than keeping it in, anger should be expressed in an appropriate way. Frequent outbursts of anger are often counter-productive and cause problems in relationships with others. Angry outbursts are also stressful to your nervous and cardiovascular systems and can make health problems worse. Learning how to use assertiveness is the healthy way to express your feelings, needs, and preferences. Being assertive can be used in place of using anger in these situations.
•Seek out the support of others. Talk through your feelings and try to work on changing your behaviors.
•If you have trouble realizing when you are having angry thoughts, keep a log of when you feel angry.
•Try to gain a different perspective by putting yourself in another's place.
•Learn how to laugh at yourself and see humor in situations.
•Practice good listening skills. Listening can help improve communication and can facilitate trusting feelings between people. This trust can help you deal with potentially hostile emotions.
•Learn to assert yourself, expressing your feelings calmly and directly without becoming defensive, hostile, or emotionally charged. Consult self-help books on assertiveness or seek help from a professional therapist to learn how to use assertiveness and anger management skills.
Do you know why we yell or shout when we are enraged?

Becasuse when we are upset at someone, our hearts fall apart, they become too distant to listen to each others point of view. Result...? We start shouting...!!

Mind it and try to manage your anger! Enjoy the Sunday..

Stay tuned...

Choose...!

Dear All,

Yesterday we discussed the self-concept or mind-programming as the first factor developing the resigning attitude in an individual. The elements of this factor were mostly external such as Parents, Relatives, Co-workers, Society and Circumstances in general.

The second factor, equally important, is more inward. Broadly it can be termed as the contribution of the individual towards his/her advancement as a mature, sensible and well-balanced adult. It could be formed with a combination of self-governing or self-motivating factors as –
- Desires
- Dreams
- Passions
- Ambitions
- Dedication
- Consistency
- Determination
- Aggressiveness
- Progressiveness

All the above factors can be summed up in a single trait which would help to form a reasonable person.
And it is called C-H-O-I-C-E!

A human being always has options and alternatives to choose from.
It is entirely a persons prerogative to go for one that suits his/her convenience.

Convenience or comfort-zone, as it is commonly understood, solely and exclusively directs the almost involuntary selection of the alternative as if it is inherent of the character. And here’s the crux of the matter! Indecisiveness, lack of confidence and failing to take a stand are the grounds on which breeds the convenience which manifests into laziness!

Stop being lazy, take the initiative. Initiative is doing the right things without being told!

Never rising up and submitting to the circumstance or influences eventually leads to depression and all the expressions discussed yesterday.
What you choose is what you get!
It is as simple as that. The comfort-zone would never allow you to grow in the true sense.

So to overcome the loosing attitude change you expressions to –

..I am the special one…
..I have everything it takes…
..Life is beautiful and I am grateful…
..I will meet and greet people…
..I have the full control of the situation…
..I feeling energetic and alive…
..Nothing can stop me, not even the system…
..Even if we loose, we never loose the lesson…
..I don’t bother who gets what…
..I will write my own fate…

So is this the receipe for SUCCESS, well… let us see… tomorrow!

Till then.. Be provoked and take initiative!!

Why me...?

Dear All,

..Why me…
..Only if I had…
..Life is not fair…
..I hate family gatherings…
..Nothing can be changed…
..I am fade up of the routine…
..The whole system is corrupted…
..Why we can never manage to win…
..How can unworthy people get so much…
..I work very hard, but the luck in never on my side…

How many times we hear these and similar expressions..Or.. we ourselves express them?

What is the reason behind this?
We can get into the depths of it, only if we dare to…

Let’s see how far we can analyze this.

The first and foremost base of these excuses, complaints and grievances is in the mind programming
Whatever we listen, we learn and regard as the presumption of life.
Human brain takes the reactions and expressions as the formatting tools and hence defines the self-concept or Personality, as it is commonly known. There are no. of orders and commands in the early childhood of a person that sets the tone of his/her adulthood.
‘Don’t you do that…’
‘You will spill it…’
‘You can never do it right…’
‘You are hopeless…’
‘You will not manage it…’
‘You are so irresponsible…’
These are some of the expressions that has a long-lasting effect on person’s mental development.
And it doesn’t take a genius to state that all of these are Negative and Nagging instructions.

By this I don’t mean to say that never direct or instruct the child or anybody for that matter. Just be extremely positive and constructive in your remarks or criticism.
Let’s rephrase all the above expressions with a strong positive attitude…
‘Can you try a different approach…’
‘I believe you will carry it…’
‘Let’s learn what is the right way to do it…’
‘You are showing lot of improvement…’
‘I have confidence in you…’
‘Would you like to take the responsibility of…’

See! The matter is just of the RIGHT tone and expression which can set all the things right.

This is the FIRST fundamental cause of all the nagging behavior we witness every single day.

We will talk about the SECOND one tomorrow…

Till then, Be aware and take care!

Stay tuned…

Unlearn...!

Dear All,

Illiterate is not the person who can not read or write,
but the one who is not willing to learn, unlearn and relearn!

Unlearn is a metaphor that always fascinated me. The very concept of undoing is always sadly mistaken for something negative or seriously wrong. Although in real life there is no means by which things could be undone, still there are people in abundance who crave to ‘undo’ no. of things every single day! Some of them even earnestly wish to undo their entire past…

Human is neither a computer application nor a structure and hence it is almost impossible to undo or demolish the past and rebuild it. The only option available for living creature is to improve the presents by restructuring elements and head for future perfection! This definitely is a concurrent process which is not easy but not impossible all the same.

The equivalent of ‘undo’ from virtual life could be UNLEARN from the real world! Unlearning should be spontaneous, intuitive and self-paced vis-à-vis learning or relearning which comparatively is easy, passive and ordinary to some extent.

We will try to explore the details of similar theories day-by-day at this place with the help of
- Concepts
- Stories
- Fables
- Experiences
- Experiments

Everybody is requested to feel free, go ahead and share whatever you would like to about this.
Your inputs, feedback, comments and suggestions would be highly regarded.

This is it for the day, let’s take it forward tomorrow onwards…
Till then… Be Aware and live each moment to the fullest!

Stay tuned…

A fox looked at his shadow at sunrise and said, “I wil have a camel for lunch today.”
And all morning he went about looking for camels. But at noon he saw his shadow again—and he said,
“A mouse will do.”

Prologue

Dear Mankind,

There were the days when we used to say ‘Let’s meet and plan something!’
Here are the days when we say ‘ Let’s plan and meet someday!’

What really has changed? Feelings, Emotions, Notions, Perceptions, Priorities.. or.. V-a-l-u-e-s?

Appreciation compliments nothing but monetization…
Faith is still there but has been sadly misplaced…
Gratitude no more rhymes with Attitude…
Integrity is so puzzled in absence of it’s usual companions that it did not recognize itself…
Intimacy* comes bundled with mutual benefit with a tiny star over it’s head that reads ‘Conditions Apply’…
Love, the eternal bliss to the Being, has shrunken to merely two-to-three and that too is on terms…
Praise doesn’t necessarily looks for worthiness anymore…
Sensitivity once supposed to be the distinct characteristics of human, now seems so scarce that it is as good as extinct…
Truth is dead and gone may be with the dinosaurs…

Where have we started…?
What was our objective…?
Why we took the path we have taken…?
Who was forcing us to take this path…?
What was our motive behind all this…?
Can we analyze progress, development, evolution…?

And if THIS is it,

AT THE COST OF WHAT?

If you started feeling this is too philosophical or idealistic and leading nowhere…
Watch this Space…
We will ultimately have some real USEFUL stuff right here…

Good Day!

Stay tuned…
